Telangana State Sports Meet

The Telangana State Sports Meet is one of the most prestigious annual sporting events in which athletes from Medak District proudly represent their region at state-level competitions. The event serves as a platform for talented sportspersons to compete against the best athletes from districts across Telangana while promoting excellence, discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Before the state meet, district-level selection trials are organized by the District Youth Services & Sports Department in collaboration with local sports associations and educational institutions. Outstanding performers earn the opportunity to represent Medak in various disciplines, including Athletics, Cricket, Volleyball, Kabaddi, Football, Badminton, Kho-Kho, Basketball, Wrestling, Boxing, Weightlifting, Table Tennis, Archery, and Indoor Games. The championship showcases participants from schools, colleges, universities, sports academies, and professional clubs. The sports meet features multiple competitions across different age categories for both men and women. Winners receive gold, silver, and bronze medals, certificates of achievement, and recognition from the Sports Authority of Telangana. Exceptional athletes may also be selected for national championships, specialized coaching camps, and advanced sports development programs.

Christmas at Medak Cathedral is one of the grandest and most cherished celebrations in Telangana, attracting thousands of devotees, pilgrims, and tourists from across India every year.
