    Independence Day is celebrated with great patriotism and enthusiasm across Medak District every year on 15th August. The district-level official celebrations are organized by the District Administration at the Integrated Collectorate Complex (IDOC), AP Housing Board Colony, Medak, where government officials, public representatives, freedom fighters, students, teachers, police personnel, and citizens gather to commemorate India's independence. The Collector hoists the National Flag in the presence of senior district officials, followed by the singing of the National Anthem and a ceremonial salute. The event begins with an impressive Guard of Honour presented by the district police and other uniformed services. The District Collector addresses the gathering, highlighting the government's developmental initiatives, achievements of the district, welfare programs, and future plans for Medak. Government departments showcase their accomplishments through exhibitions and information stalls, reflecting the district's progress in agriculture, education, healthcare, infrastructure, women empowerment, and rural development.

    The Medak District Cricket Tournament is one of the most prestigious annual sporting events organized in the district, bringing together talented cricketers from every corner of Medak. Conducted during January and February, the tournament is organized by the District Cricket Association, in collaboration with the Department of Youth Services & Sports, Government of Telangana, to promote cricket at the grassroots level and identify promising players for higher-level competitions. The championship attracts school teams, college teams, village clubs, private academies, corporate teams, and youth sports associations from across the district. Players representing Medak, Ramayampet, Narsapur, Toopran, Chegunta, Papannapet, Tekmal, Regode, Shivampet, Kulcharam, Alladurg, and neighboring mandals participate with great enthusiasm, making it one of the largest cricket tournaments in the region. The tournament follows official cricket rules and regulations under experienced umpires and match officials. Competitions are organized in multiple categories, including Under-14, Under-16, Under-19, Senior Men's, Women's, and Open Category tournaments, providing opportunities for players of all age groups to showcase their talent. The matches are played in league and knockout formats, ensuring exciting and competitive cricket throughout the tournament.
